Drama as Sheamus gets angered by Gary Neville's Liverpool speech on 'It's Called Soccer' podcast
Gary Neville was forced to admit Liverpool will win the Premier League this season after being pressed by former WWE Champion Sheamus.
The Manchester United legend was a guest on the 'It's Called Soccer' podcast with the Irishman and die-hard Reds fan.
Neville played in most of Sir Alex Ferguson's teams that dominated English football for two decades - often at the expense of the Anfield club - and he was not about to let his time with the former right-back go unnoticed.
The 46-year-old instructed Neville to lie on the ground before performing a sniper trick on the Red Devils icon. As he did so, he picked Neville up, flipped him over and pressed on his back same position where an opponent in the ring would tap out.
The conversation
"Just lay on the ground there,' Sheamus said before he began. "I feel sorry for you do you know how long I've waited to do this since I was probably 12/14-years-old.
"This is called the Clover Leaf. Say Liverpool are going to win the league.
"Say Liverpool are number one! Say it Gary! Say it,' Sheamus adds, before Neville tapped out and complied."
Sheamus joined WWE in 2009 and has been one of the biggest names in the sport since his debut, but could be leaving pro wrestling this year. He once delivered a perfect taunt to a Manchester crowd when WWE toured the UK in 2018. The duo often appeared in trench coats as part of Cesaro's tag team.
However, when they arrived at the ring, Sheamus and Cesaro stripped off their clothes and showed the crowd their Liverpool jerseys. Sheamus also sang You'll Never Walk Alone for the attendees.
