It is set to be a packed race for Wolves winger Pedro Neto this summer with Manchester City and Liverpool joining Arsenal and Tottenham in the pursuit of the Portugal international.

The 24-year-old has been at Molineux since 2019 and has steadily become one of the most highly-rated players outside of the elite clubs at the top of the table.

Neto has scored just 11 goals in 110 Premier League appearances for Wolves, but he has become a regularly provider of goals, with nine assists this season.

He has done enough to attract the attention of a string of top clubs, with The Telegraph reporting that Manchester City and Liverpool are considering summer bids.

It has previously been reported that Arsenal and Tottenham are also keen to sign the Portuguese star, which puts Wolves in a position to ask for a lot of money this summer.

He is under contract until 2027 and Wolves are demanding at least £80m for his services, which will make him a major signing for anyone who wants to snap him up.

Wolves boss Gary O’Neil said the club felt Neto was fit to play, despite suffering a hamstring problem a week before against Newcastle, but the decision backfired.

‘It’s hard for medical (department),’ O’Neil said after the 2-1 win. ‘They come and speak to me, and I come up here and tell you what they think, but there’s a lot of work that will need to be done to assess why (it happened).

‘Pedro had a really good week. He had a scan that was completely clear. No muscle damage at all. He felt really good yesterday in training. Felt good again today. So just really, really disappointed that lands on me eventually, whether the decision to play him today was right or not.’
