Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah transfer latest amidst Real Madrid and Saudi interest
Mohamed Salah is yet to renew his contract with Liverpool as he still has the final 18 months of his current contract.
The director of the Saudi Professional League has stated that the club will not try to sign the Red Army's No. 11 jersey this winter. However, afterwards, there was some uncertainty about the intentions of all parties.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed this, saying on his KICK channel: I don't know what will happen in the summer. Guys, I keep repeating that if they told us one year ago Ronaldo, Mane, Neymar will join Saudi clubs in the summer, I was not going to trust it. But look what happened in the summer.
"It takes a lot of time before know the real story for the summer, he have to look at how the second half of the season is for Liverpool. Liverpool are doing fantastic - very well in the Premier League, very well in all the other competitions - so I think for Liverpool now the priority remains to focus on the pitch."
Broadcaster Ben Jacobs reported that Saudi Pro League Chiefs have approved a rule change that will allow 10 foreign players to register for domestic competition from next year. That's more than the eight previously allowed.
On the other hand, Kylian Mbappe will enter the final six months of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain on Monday, meaning clubs can strike a deal with him early without intervention from his employer.
Fabrizio Romano agrees that Real Madrid will submit a contract offer on January 1, as claimed by the Athletic. He will then submit a reply by the middle of the month, and if it is not accepted by then, the Spanish club will turn its attention elsewhere.
Romano also explained the possibility of the French forward to move to the Premier League with Liverpool interest known: "The situation is still really quiet with English clubs, with Real Madrid pushing for Mbappe.
"I am not here to guarantee to you a decision will be made on the Mbappe story in January. This could still take time and when Mbappe will decide, I will tell you."
