Wataru Endo, the new Liverpool midfielder is a Japanese professional footballer who recently signed with the Reds from VfB Stuttgart on a long-term contract, subject to international clearance and work permit.

He was born on February 9, 1993, in Fukuoka, Japan.

Endo began his career at Cerezo Osaka in the J-League, where he played as a defensive midfielder. He made his professional debut in 2011 and played for Cerezo Osaka for six years before moving to Urawa Red Diamonds in 2017. Endo's early career was marked by his versatility and ability to play in multiple positions, including center-back and right-back.

In 2019, Endo joined VfB Stuttgart in the German 2. Bundesliga for a season-long loan. He quickly established himself as a key player in the team's midfield and helped the club secure promotion to the Bundesliga in his first season and earned a permanent contract at the club.

Endo's success in the J-League and Bundesliga earned him a call-up to the Japan national team, where he has become a regular starter. He has represented Japan in several international tournaments, including the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, where he helped Japan reach the final.

Endo's signing with Liverpool is expected to have a significant impact on the team's defensive stability. Liverpool had struggled with injuries and a lack of depth in the midfield position last season, and Endo's arrival along  with the addition of other midfield players like Alexis McAllister and Dominik  Szoboslai is seen as a solution to this problem .

Endo's versatility and defensive abilities make him an ideal candidate to provide cover for Jurgen Klopp's backline, while his passing and ball-carrying skills will add a new dimension to the midfield.

Overall, the Japanese inclusion to the team is a promising move for the  Reds as they look to strengthen their squad and compete for titles in the Premier League and in  Europe.
