Brighton aren't ready to reject Liverpool's offer for any further bid according to a report
It was earlier claimed that the agent of Moises Caicedo persuaded the midfielder to snub a trip to Liverpool today when the Ecuadorian was in London preparing to travel to Merseyside for his Liverpool medical - following a £111 million deal agreed between the Reds and Brighton for his signature.
Caicedo was previously heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, Liverpool managed to hijack the Blues's transfer plans with their record breaking bid. While personal terms between Caicedo and Liverpool are yet to be agreed upon, a medical was planned for Friday, and it was expected that the deal will be finalized soon.
If Caicedo does end up signing with Liverpool, he could have a significant impact on the team's midfield. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that the club has reached an agreement with Brighton to sign Caicedo.
While some reports suggest that Caicedo is having second thoughts about joining Liverpool and would prefer to move to Chelsea base on an agreement already on ground between both parties, others indicate that Liverpool's pursuit of Caicedo is still ongoing as Brighton awaits an improved bid from Chelsea.
However, a fresh report from an insider has held that Brighton are holding on to Liverpool's bid they've already agreed upon and they aren't expecting any further bid from any other parties.
If this report is true, it means Caicedo would be forced to ignore his agent and complete the move to Anfield in the coming days.
Regardless of the outcome, Caicedo's signing would be a major statement of intent from Liverpool and could potentially strengthen their squad for the new season which begins on Saturday 12 August where the Reds takes on their bidding rivals Chelsea.
