Liverpool have reportedly reached a transfer agreement with Stuttgart for the signing of their captain and midfielder, Wataru Endo.

The details of the transfer agreement revealed that the Merseyside club have agreed an €18 million fee, and the Japanese international is expected to undergo a medical examination on Thursday.

Liverpool's interest in Endo suggests that they are looking to strengthen their midfield options for  the season.

The Reds have been in the market for a holding midfielder, missing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia,  with both players preferring a move to Chelsea. They continued to be linked with variety of midfield players despite their lost to Chelsea.

However Endo's deal comes as a surprise to many, as the 30-year-old Japan international was not previously linked with a move to Liverpool.

Wataru Endo's addition to Jurgen Klopp's team has the potential to make a significant impact on their midfield. Endo is known for his versatility and ability to play the defensive midfield position. A good passer of the ball, fast and a good tackler.

Additionally, his leadership skills as Stuttgart's captain could also prove valuable to the Reds dynamics.
