Mohamed Salah's villa in Egypt was broken into over the weekend, according to reports from his home country
A relative of the Liverpool forward reportedly noticed an open window at the property on Saturday night, prompting him to contact authorities in case someone breaks in.
His fears were later confirmed when Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram said a team from Cairo's investigation service would be on the scene shortly to assess the condition of the property.
Officials have since told The Associated Press that people who entered the mansion, located 30 miles east of downtown Cairo, had their cable receivers stolen.
The aforementioned article added that the thieves also attempted to take a cooking gas cylinder from the garden, which turned out to be "too heavy" for them to carry. An investigation into the robbery is said to be "ongoing" and no arrests have been made.
Salah played for Liverpool on the south coast on Saturday afternoon, and he missed the penalty in Jurgen Klopp's side's loss to Bournemouth. The result leaves the Merseysiders six points behind their Champions League goal and a game away from fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
