Roberto Firmino has told Jurgen Klopp he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season when his contract expires
Roberto Firmino's time at Liverpool will come to an end in the summer, when his Anfield contract expires.
Liverpool opted to sign Firmino in 2015 when they brought in the striker from Hoffenheim then at the age of 23. So far in his Liverpool career Firmino has scored 107 goals in 353 appearances.
As Jurgen Klopp's side prepare to restructure the rest of the squad in the summer, the question is whether the absences and vacancies left by the Brazilian will be filled, or whether the German can count on the current firepower.
Firmino has - this season - been plagued by injuries - among the injury problems which have shifted from the Reds defense to the attack. Cody Gakpo arrived earlier in the year to ease Liverpool woes after long-term injuries to Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz as Darwin Nunez moved in and out of the starting XI.
Apparently, the Reds have some options within the squad to fill the void that'll be left by the Brazilian, however, with Mo Salah's future uncertain at the club, they have viewed Napoli and Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the perfect candidate to strengthen their forward line next season.
Osimhen has been a standout star in Luciano Spaletti's Serie A side this season.
The 24-year-old has 19 goals in 21 league appearances so far and has displayed the qualities of a modern striker with his impeccable athleticism and eye for goals.
