Kylian Mbappe has said Paris Saint-Germain's performance in the Champions League won't decide his future at the club
PSG, like Manchester City, have failed in recent years to win a first Champions League title despite having an unrivaled front line in Lionel Messi, Neymar and Mbappe.
A player of Mbappe's caliber will in no doubt be eager to win the Champions League during his career, and if the Ligue 1 leaders continue to underperform, he may want to leave PSG.
The 24-year-old couldn't help his side reach the quarter-finals of Europe's elite competition on Wednesday night, as his team failed to reverse a one-goal deficit to Bayern Munich, who were at at an advantage after their 1st-leg win at the Parc des Princes.
Mbappe has been linked with moves to Liverpool and other big European clubs of late, but the France international made it clear that Champions League results at PSG will not determine whether he abandons ship.
The forward said prior to their 2nd-leg defeat [1-0] to Munich: "If I linked my future to the Champions League, without wishing to show a lack of respect to the club, I would have left a long time ago.
"I don't think this match will have an impact. I am here and I am very happy to be here. I am not thinking about anything other than making PSG successful."
