Rio Ferdinand isn't nervous ahead of Manchester United's trip to Anfield to take on Premier League rivals Liverpool on Sunday
Erik ten Hag's side are currently third in the Premier League, 10 points ahead of bitter rivals Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp's men know three points mean a lot in their bid for a top-four finish.
Former Manchester United centre-back Ferdinand believes Ten Hag's' side are on an upward trend, while Jurgen Klopp's side have hit a wall and stagnated.
Ahead of the England's fierce clash, Ferdinand was asked on BT Sport if he was nervous about Sunday's game at Anfield
The United legend replied: "Nervous? This is the most confident I've been going into a Liverpool fixture for the last six or seven years," Ferdinand said. "I think Man United are on the up whereas Liverpool have stagnated and taken a couple of steps backwards.
"They've been on a formidable run the last few years, but they aren't the Liverpool team that we've seen the last few years at the moment. What a time to go to Anfield, it's the best place to win as a Man United player."
