The Blues completed a deal for Benfica's Enzo Fernandes before deadline after weeks of huge spending, A record fee £107million was agreed for the World Cup winner to move to London.
Meanwhile, Struggling Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side spent just £44m on Cody Gakpo who's yet to find the back of the net for the club.
"I say nothing without my lawyer. I don't understand this part of the business but it's a big number," Klopp said in his pre match conference ahead of the Reds visit to Wolves.
"They are all really good players so congratulations. I don't understand how it's possible, but it's not for me to explain how it works."

Enzo Fernandez - £105million, eight-and-a-half-year-contract
Malo Gusto - £26.3million, six-and-a-half-year-contract (loan back to Lyon for remainder of 22/23 season)
Noni Madueke - £35million, seven-and-a-half year contract (option for an extra year)
Mykhailo Mudryk - £88million, seven-and-a-half year contract (option for an extra year)
Benoit Badiashile - £33.7million, seven-and-a-half year contract (option for an extra year)
Joao Felix (six-month loan) - £9.7million fee plus 100% wages (no option to buy)
Andrey Santos - £11million, long-term contract
David Datro Fofana - £10million, six-and-a-half year contract (option for an extra year).
