Jurgen Klopp could be under fire should Liverpool lose to Merseyside rivals Everton on Monday
A struggling Liverpool side will host Merseyside rivals Everton next week. The pressure on Reds boss Jurgen Klopp continues to surge with the Merseyside Reds failing to record a win in their last three matches.
The Merseyside derby shares almost the same animosity as when the Reds play bitter rivals Manchester United. Jurgen Klopp will be on his toes for the late hours kickoff on Monday knowing that the Toffees are coming back from an inspiring win against Premier League leaders Arsenal under new manager Sean Dyche.
Meanwhile Klopp job has been under questioning since the beginning of the year, however there're likely no chances that Liverpool will part ways with the German manager soon.
Jurgen Klopp has won all competitive trophies for Liverpool since taking the club's managerial role from Brendan Rodgers in 2015.
Referee confirmed for Monday's Merseyside derby
Simon Hooper has been confirmed to referee Monday's Merseyside derby.
Everton head to Anfield for Sean Dyche's second game, while Jurgen Klopp's side looked for answers after another poor display against Wolves.
John Brooks will serve as the video assistant referee. It will be Hooper's third Liverpool game in charge and his second of the season. He was the official with the whistle in the Reds' win over Southampton.
He was also in charge in the FA Cup win over Shrewsbury and the League Cup win over Burton Albion.
It is now his seventh time to officiate Everton - four of which the Blues have won.
