Stefan Bajcetic declared himself Jurgen Klopp's new star as Liverpool beat Everton 2-0 on Monday night
Bajcetic made his third Premier League start and 13th in all competitions on Monday night, but his inexperience was not apparent in the Merseyside derby. The 18-year-old excelled in midfield and was named man of the match as Liverpool won 2-0 with goals from Mohamed Salah and debut goal scorer Cody Gakpo.
Bajcetic showed remarkable composure in midfield, helping Jordan Henderson and Fabinho win points against Amadou Onana, Abdoulaye Dukoure and Idrissa Gueye's midfield battle. He recovered the ball several times and made some gorgeous touches and passes.
The Anfield crowd appreciated the young Spaniard - with Jurgen Klopp and Salah applauding him after the game.
There's another outpouring of support in social media including one from former skipper Steven Gerrard.
"Brilliant tonight @Stefanbajcetic," Gerrard wrote with a clapping and flame emoji.
Former Liverpool players Jose Enrique and Jay Spearing wrote: "MOTM",
The later added: "class tonight".
