The anticipated transfer of Enzo Ferandez to Chelsea has been called off after the two clubs failed to agree on a fee
Benfica have repeatedly stated that they will only sell the player if a club pays the €120 million release clause in his contract. Chelsea requested that the fee be paid in installments, this led to the deal being abandoned.
Argentinian journalist Cesar Luis Merlo claims that Benfica "abandoned the sale" after several days of negotiations.
Liverpool have been linked with a transfer for Fernandez having been speculated that there's a pre-agreement between the Merseyside club and Benfica for the midfielder.
