Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Virgil van Dijk will be out for "more than a month" with a hamstring injury.
The Liverpool boss however, admitted he decided to remove him at half-time in the Reds' 3-1 defeat at Brentford.
Van Dijk, Konstantinos Tsimikas and Harvey Elliott were replaced as Brentford led 2-0 at half-time.
Ahead of Liverpool's FA Cup clash with Wolves, Klopp said: "Virg is a huge blow for us. I actually took him off, in the end the final diagnosis was pretty harsh. Weeks but over a month - hopefully It goes quick."
