The Boston Red Sox are set to announce the largest contract in their history for their star player, Rafael Devers
According to reports in the US from various outlets, FSG have authorized an 11-year contract worth $331 (£275.2m) million to keep Devers in Boston for the majority of his career.
The agreement has not yet been officially announced, but when it is, it will be the sixth largest contract in Major League Baseball history and the largest ever signed by the Red Sox.
Similarities have been observed between the situation at FSG in European football and baseball, where the self-sustaining model that had been so highly praised during the peak of Liverpool's dominance of European football from late 2018-mid 2020 had now become problematic when it came to replacing the players who had contributed so much value.
