Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Roberto Firmino from Liverpool
The Brazilian's future becomes uncertain following the Reds' signing of Cody Gakpo and now, according to Mundo Deportivo a move to Atletico Madrid has surfaced.
Firmino's contract was set to expire in the summer of 2022, speculation arose in the latter half of 2022 that he could choose to leave the club after eight years.
A resurgence in form prompted calls for a new, short-term contract, Klopp has previously stated that negotiations over a new deal have been taking place for some time.
However, with less than six months remaining on the contract, he is able to discuss pre-contract agreements with clubs outside of the country. The arrival of Gakpo has left Firmino unsure of his future, now he's 'displaced' by the addition of Gakpo along with Darwin Nunez. Despite the rumors, the consensus on Merseyside is that Firmino will extend his tenure for at least one more year.
