Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has indicated that the club will make a similar transfer in January similar to the one that brought Luis Diaz to Anfield
Diaz was acquired from Porto in the beginning of this year, the Anfield club bought the Colombian for a £50m amidst a strong interest from Tottenham.
Since joining, the wing-forward has been able to write his name among the stars relied upon at Anfield having played a significant role in the Reds' victories in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup last season.
However, the Colombian has suffered a knee injury that will keep him sidelined until at least March.
Diogo Jota is also expected to be sidelined until February, this has led to concerns over the number of options available to Klopp in attack.
After returning from a warm weather training camp in Dubai, Klopp has now suggested that he may seek to add to his squad this winter in order to compensate for the absences of Diaz and Jota.
“All the signs I got in the Dubai training camp were super positive. I trust in our process and the things we do. It was completely different to pre-season. Completely different," the Liverpool boss said.
"In all the games I saw we were going in the right direction. I am positive we can pick up where we left off rather than go back to the start of the season. I don’t want to start talking about it now but we have two long term injuries up front which is not helpful. Never was, never will be.
"Last season we had Luis Diaz come in (January) which was very helpful for that part of the season, everybody would see that the same way. But doing something again that is very positive - why not?”
