Sadio Mane is expected to be out for weeks with a tendon injury he suffered in Bayern Munich's 6-1 Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen on Tuesday

Mane appeared to be involved in a rather innocuous clash with Werder Bremen defender Amos Pieper during the first half of the game at the Allianz Arena.

Now, just 12 days away from Senegal's first World Cup match in Qatar, according to L'Equipe, Mane's problems appear to be enough to keep him out from the squad.

Speaking initially about the injury after the game, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann said: “It’s an unpleasant spot, it radiates a bit into the muscles.

“I think he has to go to the X-ray to see if there is something there, because it is splintering easily.
"But I hope that nothing is wrong. I can’t say anything for sure yet.”

Mane was  heavily involved in Senegal's qualification for the World Cup this year and also the nation's first African Cup of Nations triumph.
