Pep Lijnders has provided an important injury update on Liverpool attacking pair Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota
Diaz, who was the Reds' most impressive outfield player at the start of the season, has been sidelined since picking up a knee injury in the 3-2 Premier League defeat to Arsenal on October 9.
The winger returned to his native Colombia to continue his rehabilitation at the national team headquarters before returning to running at the AXA Training Center last week.
Jota, meanwhile, suffered a serious calf injury at the end of a 1-0 home win over Manchester City on October 16 and is therefore out of the upcoming World Cup. The Portugal international has been sidelined for almost two months after aggravating an existing hamstring problem earlier in pre-season.
While Jota faces a race against time for a spot until next year, Diaz is ready for Liverpool's planned Middle East friendly.
Confirming both players recovery, Lijnders said: "Luis Diaz definitely (would play in Dubai), if everything goes to plan.
"We can’t wait to see him back, he is this player who smiles when he has the ball at his feet.
"Diogo will join us to continue his rehab. The conditions to train and recover in Dubai are just very, very good. A change of scenery is always a welcome factor when recovering from a long-term injury."
Liverpool will train for 12 days in warm weather in the United Arab Emirates during the World Cup. The Reds will also take part in the Dubai Super Cup, taking on French club Lyon on December 11 and Serie A champions AC Milan five days later.
They'll jet back to kickoff their domestic campaign with their Carabao Cup fourth-round tie in Manchester City on December 22.
