Jamie Carragher has aimed a dig at three former United players as he defends Erik ten Hag in new Cristiano Ronaldo spat
Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo's future has been the subject of intense debate since he re-signed for former club Manchester United in the summer of 2021.
Ronaldo has played just four Premier League games this season and has been kept on sidelines by manager Erik Ten Hager on multiple occasions.
Ronaldo, who sat for an interview with Piers Morgan on Talk TV, accused United of "betraying" him and said he had "disrespect" for the club's new boss Ten Hag.
Carragher jumped to defence of Ten Hag on Twitter as he slammed the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's comments. The former Liverpool defender also aimed dig at three former Manchester United star along the line.
Carragher tweeted: “Ronaldo ‘I don’t respect the manager’. Ronaldo under Erik ten Hag: Announced he wanted to leave, refused to come on as a substitute, walked off the bench and left before the game had finished.
“99% of United fans will be on the side of Ten Hag, which shows how badly Ronaldo has handled this."
Carragher added in a separate tweet: “The 1% will be Rio (Ferdinand), Roy (Keane) & Patrice (Evra)….”
