Jurgen Klopp has explained why Thiago Alcantara and Darwin Nunes cannot be part of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest
Nunes exited the game an hour before full time during the midweek win over West Ham.
Thiago, on the other hand, was unable to attend due to illness.
Klopp told BT Sport at City Stadium before the game: "No (it's not a precaution) I hope I can do it.
"It was too early for Darwin, his muscles still felt the intensity of the game, so he didn't have a chance to play today. Maybe he could play tomorrow or Monday, but not today.
"Thiago had a severe ear infection overnight. The decision was made at 5.15 this morning. That's how it happens sometimes, that's why."
