Both players were forced off the pitch with injuries against Arsenal on Sunday
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz injured against Arsenal |
Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, who suffered a knee injury in the loss to Arsenal, will return to action after next month's World Cup in Qatar.
Diaz will miss six to eight weeks and will only return after the World Cup in Qatar, where his national team, Colombia, will not play due to a lack of qualification.
However, there is a good news for Liverpool as Diaz injury will not require surgery.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip are now out for two weeks and will miss Sunday's game against Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed the injury ahead of Liverpool's Champions League clash with Rangers but believes they are not as serious as initially feared.
"I think we were a little bit lucky with Trent because his ankle didn't look good, to be honest. Lucho [Luis Diaz] looks like a quick healer, but we have to be careful with that. That could have been worse as well, with the way he moved after the game.
"And with Joel, he just felt a little bit [his calf]. That's what you do these days, have a scan, and he is out as well. That's not great, but it's the situation and we have to deal with it and we will."
