A recent report from Spain has stated that Mbappe's future is still being addressed regarding the clause tied to his PSG contract
Many speculations have been connecting the Reds to the Paris Saint-Germain's forward in the past. However, it was always unlikely that he would move to Anfield.
In May, Kylian Mbappe signed a new contract with PSG. Mbappe was reportedly close to moving to Real Madrid prior to signing a new contract.
L'Equipe claims that the contract of the French forward extends until the summer of 2024. However, the player is entitled to an additional year until 2025 if he chooses to. This means that by the end of the current football season, Mbappe will have one more year left on his contract. If he chooses to leave the club, he'll have to do it for free once 2024 ends.
Before signing a new contract in the summer, Kylian Mbappe talked to Liverpool about joining Anfield.
In an interview shortly after signing a new contract with PSG, Mbappe claimed he talked with the Merseysiders regarding his future. However, it's uncertain if he had any real chances of fulfilling a long-term desire of the Merseyside club fans.
A recent report in Marca suggests that multiple Premier League clubs can be possible suitors for Mbappe if he leaves PSG. Manchester City and Liverpool have supposedly been mentioned but this time around Chelsea and Manchester United will compete for the Frenchman's service.
