Jurgen Klopp provides update on Curtis Jones injury

Jones has only played twice for Liverpool this season

The 21-year-old believed he would return to regular duties after recovering from a month-long calf injury. This happened in the end of August's 2-1 win over Newcastle.

Jones didn't travel to Naples for Wednesday's Champions League game; he missed the Liverpool vs. Everton derby last weekend. And Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the young midfielder has suffered a recurrence of his healed injury.

Klopp however stated that the injury is not as bad as previous but still not very helpful.

“Curtis, when he was out previously, had a stress reaction in a specific bone around the tibia,” the German told reporters.

“It was absolutely fine, no problem anymore. Trained twice, felt it again.

“It’s not as bad as the first time, but it’s bad enough to not be involved in team training again, which is not very helpful.”
