Liverpool have been dealt a huge injury setback with the latest confirmation on Fabio Carvalho's fitness
Following a tackle by Amadou Onana on Carvalho that led to the forward replaced during the derby — Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the extent of what appeared to be a sad news coming for the Reds.
Carvalho was forced off the pitch against Everton on Saturday after a careless charge on the young promising player from the Toffees midfielder Amadou Onana.
The Portugal international was quickly replaced by Roberto Firmino to prevent further constraints and his hopes to continue his scoring streak was brought to an end.
Klopp confirmed the player's delinquencies as the Reds travel to Napoli without the 19-year-old.
The Liverpool boss said: "Fabio got a massive dead leg, which caused the muscle some problems. He is walking now normal but is no chance to train until now.
“We hope now every day it will get better and he will be ready for the weekend but I’m not 100 per cent sure.”
Carvalho might be set to be sidelined for weeks if issues gets complicated that he doesn't return to training before the weekend. And it would be a massive miss for the Reds considering the player's recent goalscoring form.
