Liverpool celebrated their biggest ever Premier League victory with a 9-0 win over Bournemouth at Anfield weeks ago
Liverpool had a disappointing start to the Premier League season. Their first three games ended in draws against Crystal Palace and Fulham, and a loss to Manchester United. However, the Reds' frustration turned into aggression when they host Scott Parker's team at Anfield. After being defeated 2-1 by United, the Reds humbled Bournemouth with nine baton runs.
The defeat led to the dismissal of Scott Parker as the Cherries manager.
Bournemouth midfielder Tavernier still had horrible memories of his nightmare at Anfield, he recalls his experience speaking in an interview: "Obviously you can get beat at places, but it was the manner and the way that we got beat," he said.
"It was disgraceful, if you like to say. It was one of the lowest I've ever been in my football career, getting beat 9-0 - it's unheard of in football terms.
"The best thing was that we had to show a reaction as quick as possible. We had a game not that long after and we showed that reaction."
