This is a big defeat for Liverpool as they lost 2-1 at Old Trafford against their arch rivals
There are plenty of reasons to be sad about Liverpool’s defeat at Old Trafford, not least Liverpool’s failure to book a Premier League win for the first time this season. But perhaps the most important reasons are far more emotional, and much harder to put into words.
Manchester United's 2-1 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford is their first win of the season. It was a disappointing performance from Jurgen Klopp injury hampered side, who were much more comfortable for large parts of the game but failed to convert their dominance into goals.
United took the lead after only 15 minutes courtesy, goal from Jadon Sancho, and the Reds failed to equalise before the end of the first half. The home side again took over in the second half and went to score their second with Marcus Rashford hitting pass Alisson Becker in a one-on-one situation from a counter attack.
Mohamed Salah late goal helped the Reds to reduce the deficit but the Reds weren't able to find an equaliser within 14 minutes.
Manchester United have had a long wait to beat Liverpool in the Premier. It wasn't the biggest defeat for the Anfield club but the Mancs did win against their most heated rivals for the first time in 4 years.
