Gary Neville destroy Man United players and sends Liverpool message

Gary Neville has sent a Liverpool message to Manchester United players after Brentford embarrassment

Gary Neville has warned the pressure on Manchester United's players before they face Liverpool a week on Monday is going to be 'enormous'.

Erik Ten Hag's side have had a difficult start to their Premier League campaign after they were beaten by Brighton last weekend. They then found themselves 4-0 down to Brentford on Saturday afternoon and suffered a second consecutive defeat.

With Liverpool next up for the Manchester United club, Neville fears the pressure is mounting and has urged the club's hierarchy to step up and alleviate some of that pressure.

"The people above Richard Arnold are now in charge of an embedded rot," Neville said on Sky Sports during commentary. "If I was them, I'd get over here this week and show up, and try to take some of the pressure away from the people below because it's going to get enormous before the Liverpool game.

"Shell-shocked, Erik ten Hag… and this is no surprise whatsoever. He’s picked the smallest team he could have possibly picked thinking he is going to out-pass Brentford. But it is 5’9” Lisandro Martinez against Ben Mee. No chance.

"You have to deal with the physical aspect of the game in the Premier League and Manchester United are not doing it. I have to say, it is like a men’s team against under nines.

"They have been mauled, bullied, messed around with like you wouldn’t believe. What a first half of football we are seeing here – the annihilation of Manchester United."
