Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United on Monday night
Jurgen Klopp has received the support of former Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who has conceded that the Reds were the superior team.
Erik ten Hag's first win with United came as a result of his team's high-energy performance, which contrasted greatly with their losses against Brighton and Brentford.
Despite being outrun and overpowered, Klopp believes his team should have won last night's game, because they created so many opportunities to score.
Given how far Liverpool fell short of their usual standards, Schweinsteiger still concurred with the German boss believing the Reds weren't top of their game but were the better team.
He told the BBC: "I support United and I’m very happy that they won the match but was it a great performance?
"In my opinion if I compare with other teams, like the top teams in Europe, I wouldn't say so. For me Liverpool was the better team they had much more of the ball and possession in the game, but you know United did one thing really well and that was the right attitude. They had the right spirit in the team.
"And in my eyes the supporters have won the match because you know, it could’ve been different."
