Diogo Jota has been rewarded for his progress at Liverpool with an improved new long-term contract
The 25-year-old forward who's netted 34 goals in 85 appearances and notched 21 goals last season has put pen to paper on a five-year deal having made an impressive impact following his arrival from Wolverhampton Wanderers in September 2020 for an initial £41million.
Negotiations between Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward and Jota's agent Jorge Mendes progressed smoothly, allowing the Portuguese forward to become the latest of Jurgen Klopp's attacking players to sign a new contract after Mohamed Salah.
New five-year contract for Jota means the former Wolverhampton man will stay at Anfield until 2027, where he'll be tasked to compete alongside Roberto Firmino and new signing Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool stars Joe Gomez, James Milner all penned fresh deals this summer, while talks are ongoing with representatives of Naby Keita, who is in the final 12 months of his current agreement.
