Liverpool have been told that they ‘have room’ to sign Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich
The Reds continue to be linked with a host of potential new players, with the transfer window still open for two more weeks. Jurgen Klopp has already sanctioned the arrivals of Darwin Nunez, Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvalho, with club sources indicating that incoming business has concluded for this summer.
While midfield has been the area of the pitch that has been the most talked about in terms of the need for reinforcements, it’s up front where one pundit thinks a new addition could be needed for Liverpool.
Former Everton star Kevin Campbell has claimed that Liverpool would be wise to consider signing Sane this summer. Campbell went on to add that the former Manchester City forward would fit in well at Anfield.
"I think there is room for Leroy Sane at Liverpool,” Campbell told Football Insider .
"We all know that is all about the squad these days. There is going to be injuries, loss of form and back-to-back league and Champions League games. You need to be able to flip your squad so everybody is fresh.
"If it was Diaz one game and Sane the next… I’m sure Liverpool fans would be happy with that. Many teams would love that strength in depth, let’s be honest.
"I think it would be a smart move to go for Sane.
"When you look at the way City are, their bench is phenomenal. It is incredible the strength in depth they have. You need to match that to compete with them. It is frightening. With five subs it can make a huge difference."
