Trent Alexander-Arnold has moved to the defence of Darwin Nunez as he makes the striker prediction
Trent Alexander-Arnold is confident Liverpool big- money signing Darwin Nunez will open his Liverpool goalscoring account sooner rather than later and believes goals will flow in like 'London buses' for the striker.
Nunez has come in for some criticism from rival fans after his pre-season displays against Manchester United and Crystal Palace. The Uruguayan completed his move from Benfica in June for an initial fee of £64million that could rise to £85million.
Speaking after Liverpool's 2-0 win over Palace on Friday, Alexander-Arnold said of the new striker: "He's still kind of learning how we play, we're learning how he plays and soon enough we'll get that connection. I'm sure we'll be able to supply him with the ball to score goals. You can see he's itching for that first goal, but I'm sure once it comes it will be like London buses. We'll back him."
