Liverpool are in contact with midfield target Matheus Nunes as player's manager highlights bidders' ordeal
According to reports, the Reds have started negotiations with the agent of the Portuguese midfielder to bring him to Anfield.
Sporting CP manager Reuben Amorim has confirmed that Nunes has rejected a number of offers coming his way this summer, however, it is true that the 23-year-old want to taste football outside his home country.
Amorim said of Nunes : "For me the reality is different, it's keeping my players. I'm happy that Matheus Nunes is still here. I'm happy that Sporting's players, as Matheus Nunes, rejected offers that would change their lives to stay at Sporting.
"This is my reality, I am very happy with my squad and my players are the best in the world."
Chelsea and Manchester City are among the clubs who have shown interest in the player in the recent past but latest developments have shown that Liverpool are progressing in the battle of who wins his service.
Personal terms will be agreed upon before Sporting CP will be contacted for formal negotiations for Nunes move.
