The Cristiano Ronaldo-Manchester United exit saga continues
Cristiano Ronaldo may have been pushing for an exit from Old Trafford this summer but Gabriel Agbonlahor thinks the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is becoming more desperate to make it happen.
Earlier in this summer transfer window, Manchester United's most revered player Cristiano Ronaldo submitted a transfer request that included conditions to remain at Old Trafford.
One of those conditions as cited revealed that that the 37-year-old had told the Red Devils to afford him a 20th consecutive Champions League campaign, to which the Manchester club have failed last season.
Few days ago talks were held between Ronaldo and new Manchester United boss, Erik Ten Hag and the all time leading goalscorer in the Champions League boldly stated his desire to leave, telling Ten Hag to relax any intended contract offer.
Now, former Aston Villa player Gabriel Agbonlahor has viewed Ronaldo's actions as a desperation for more Champions League exploits, questioning the player's loyalty, believing the former Real Madrid man wouldn't mind joining his employer's arch rivals Liverpool if he his welcomed.
Speaking to talkSPORT Agbonlahor said: "Cristiano Ronaldo would join Liverpool this summer, if he could. They are big rivals of Man United but it’s about Ronaldo.
"He will go anywhere he can still play Champions League football, add to his record and win titles. I don’t think Ronaldo has any loyalty to United, Real Madrid or Juventus."
Ronaldo moved from Juventus to his former club Manchester United last summer after completing a four-year stint with the Old Ladies that began in 2016 following a record transfer of €100m from Real Madrid.
