Alisson Becker will miss Liverpool's Community Shield against Manchester City this weekend, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed
The Liverpool goalkeeper has sat out the last three friendlies having suffered an abdominal issue during the Singapore leg of the Far East tour earlier this month.
With Caoimhin Kelleher absent since earlier in the month, Adrian has been the only available senior goalkeeper.
The Spaniard was on the goal against Crystal Palace, RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg.
And while Alisson stepped up training at the camp in Austria on Thursday, Jurgen Klopp thinks the community Shield has come too early for the Brazilian.
Speaking to the press, Klopp said: "Ali trained today more than the day before so he will be definitely available for Fulham, but not for the weekend.
Diogo Jota will also have to recover from a hamstring injury he sustained in Thailand and Klopp doesn't see the Portuguese forward returning sooner.
"Diogo was not here with us so how could he play a football game? That will take a while, unfortunately. That’s it."
