Sources who confirmed Diaz deal has admitted parties are working on Nunez's travel to Merseyside
Darwin Nunez is reportedly due to undergo his Liverpool medical after an agreement of a €75m transfer fee.
The Benfica striker is being sought after by a number of Premier League clubs but has chosen to join Anfield instead.
Chelsea, Manchester and West Ham have all held talks with the player's representatives but all efforts have proved abortive.
Insiders who confirmed Luiz Diaz deal in January before anyone, disclosed earlier this week that Liverpool have agreed a €75m fee with Benfica for Nunez, with the player's paperwork to travel still being put in place.
Now sources in Portugal have agreed that the player will travel to Merseyside to undergo his Liverpool medical and finalise his dream move to Anfield.
Nunez stared in Uruguay's 0-0 draw with USA on Sunday and may be involved in Diego Alonso's selection to face Jamaica this weekend with the transfer window opening a day before.
