Liverpool are back to a point adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester City after a needful help from David Moyes' West Ham United
Pep Guardiola spoke with beINSPORTS after Manchester City 2-2 draw against West Ham |
A draw at West Ham on Sunday afternoon saw City slipped a potential six-point lead in the Premier League table, giving Liverpool the better last chance they needed to clinch a second top-flight title in three years.
Manchester City dropped a potential six-point lead to settle three points in front, with Liverpool playing Southampton on Tuesday evening.
If the Reds could get all three points against the Saints, that will put them a point behind Pep Guardiola's side ahead of the final fixtures next week where they take on Wolverhampton while City host Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola speaking after the draw at the London stadium said: "In the last fixtures, we play for important things. It was a good comeback against this team, in this stadium. It was so important.
"At half-time, we spoke with the players to tell them how incredible they are and said to just adjust a few things and try to score one goal. Fortunately, we scored a goal early on in the second half and unfortunately they scored late on in the first half. We had the chance to win, but it's still in our hands."
