Robert Lewandowski has expressed his desire to leave Bayern Munich this summer
The Poland international has been a huge success since joining the Bundesliga heavyweights from Borussia Dortmund in 2014.
Scoring 344 goals in 375 matches during his eight-year stay and winning a staggering 19 major honours at the club, Lewandowski time at Bayern could soon be coming to an end, and his declaration to taste football outside the German club has proved that to be.
Speaking at a press conference, Lewandowski told reporters: "One thing is certain today, my story with Bayern is over. After everything that has happened in recent months, I cannot imagine further good co-operation. I realise a transfer will be the best solution for both sides."
It has been claimed that Lewandowski has strong interest in joining Barcelona this summer.
But his national team coach Czeslaw Michniewicz would want him, a move to Anfield if possible: "I'd like to see Lewandowski in Liverpool since I'm a supporter of the club," the 52-year-old said.
Jurgen Klopp managed Lewandowski during the duo's days at Borussia Dortmund and the Liverpool boss is certainly an admirer of the Polish goal machine. Klopp described Lewandowski as the best player he has ever worked with during an interview with Bild last year.
