James Milner has voiced out a possible quadruple bid chagrin should Liverpool subside in form
James Milner in action for Liverpool against Newcastle |
Liverpool managed a narrow win against Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon , thanks to Naby Keita's first half goal protected by a tireless defence that helped the Reds maintained their push in the top-flight title contest.
James Milner was involved in the lunchtime visit and anchored the midfield expertly alongside Jordan Henderson and goal hero Kieta.
Liverpool already have the Carabao Cup in their bag. And now 26 days left to pull a historic quadruple triumph, Milner believes the Reds are neither too close to winning four silverwares and warned it will be an average season if they falter on all accounts.
"We've been lucky enough to win one trophy this year but if you don't win anything else it's an average season for the club", said Milner.
"The quadruple? It's what you guys talk about. It’s every three days now, we recover, we prepare, we go again for the next game. It’s a cycle. It's preparation, it's analysis. There's always going to be talk about things like that but for us it's the next game.
"You see the mindset, the relentlessness every day. You see the boys who aren’t playing – the level they train at the day after a game. It starts from the manager and the credit for the boys is incredible. The attitude in the dressing room is absolutely unreal. The attitude in the dressing room is absolutely unreal."
