Both Chelsea and Liverpool are in contention to sign Matthijs De Ligt this summer, according to reports
Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly in competition for the signing of Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt.
De Ligt is out of contract in 2024 and has a release clause of £105m written into his deal. However, CalcioMercato suggest that figure could be negotiated down amid interest from the Premier League bigwigs.
Liverpool started pursuing the signing of De Ligt in the summer of 2019 before the Dutchman sealed his transfer to Juventus from Ajax.
The Reds later opted to land RB Leipzig's Ibrahima Konate two seasons after following a massive injury to their squad.
