Kylian Mbappe has contacted Liverpool about a final transfer decision according to reports
Liverpool-linked Mbappe pick up his third consecutive Ligue one Player of the Season award |
Liverpool have been informed that the battle for Kylian Mbappe's signature is now between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
The Frenchman is out of contract this summer and will be able to leave PSG on a free transfer having, thus far, failed to come to an agreement on an extension. Madrid attempted to sign the World Cup winner on three occasions last summer, only to see a bid in excess of €200million (£171m) turned down.
Links with Liverpool intensified after that. But now coming close to the opening of the summer transfer window , Real Madrid have appeared to be leading the race once again.
Mbappe could still make a surprise move to Anfield after friends confirmed he was ready to take a pay cut to get a deal over the line.
But, Marca has claimed that if he was to leave France, his only other option would be to realise a boyhood dream and play for Real Madrid, the team he supported as a child.
The report adds that in the last week Mbappe's representatives made contact with Liverpool bosses to let them know that while he was flattered by their interest, they were not an option for him.
But that report can only be hold with a grain of salt, with Mbappe's agent confirming there's no advance transfer activity going on between his client and Real Madrid.
Marca reported on Monday afternoon that Real Madrid have secured the forward's service , that a full agreement was reached last week when Mbappe visited the Spanish capital.
