Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma has claimed that he has been informed of interest in him from Liverpool
The Dutch centre-forward became a target for Liverpool during the winter following an impressive turn up in the La Liga after sealing a £21m summer move from Bournemouth.
Danjuma has since scored 16 goals in 34 appearances in his debut season with Villarreal, and helped the La Liga club reach the Champions League semi-final where they came off worst against Liverpool.
"I am always as honest as possible," Danjuma said, speaking to Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport about his future.
"I have never had contacts with clubs or anything like that during the season. I always know about the situation after the season.
"I don’t want to get involved during the season.
"But I was informed that Liverpool were following me closely."
Danjuma added: "I will never lie and I think it’s a bad quality if you are not ambitious.
"And if a club came along that offers a higher sporting platform, I would always consider it."
