Former Liverpool fullback Joes Enrique has warned Jurgen Klopp's men against underestimating Champions League semi-final opponent Villareal
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side are deemed hot favourites to progress to this season's European Cup final ahead of their meeting with Spanish club Villarreal.
The Yellow Submarines shocked football world when they beat Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich 2-1 in aggregate in the competition's quarter finals.
Enrique believes Liverpool should be wary of the La Liga club because of the quality currently in the side.
"Ask Bayern Munich and Juventus how difficult it is to get past Villarreal," he said.
"Liverpool are the favourites in this game, that's obvious, when you compare the clubs, the fees and the salaries they pay but anything can happen over two games.
"The match is at Anfield first which won't be easy for Villarreal and I think they really need to perform well in the first match.
" [Unai] Emery [Villarreal boss] knows his stuff in these competitions so it won't be easy for Liverpool either. I believe he has players like Danjuma, Gerard Moreno – I'm not sure if he'll be fit – but they're very complete in a lot of areas, so Liverpool's high press will be very important but they have to be careful because Danjuma can damage Liverpool.
"Liverpool should go through and go to the final but that's why we love football because anything can happen."
