Paulo Dybala has been linked with a move to Liverpool after failing to agree a new deal with Juventus
The Argentine forward has failed to agree a new deal at Juventus , meaning he is set to become a free agent in the summer. But ex- Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchinson believes the Reds would not be the right club for the 28-year-old.
But ex- Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchinson has urged him to turn down any potential approaches from Liverpool.
Hutchinson believes the Reds would not be the right club for Dybala. Instead, the ESPN FC pundit has said he would prefer to see the 28-year-old link up with Spurs and has compared him to Christian Eriksen.
The 50-year-old pundit believes the forward needs to have a team built around him and views Spurs as his best option.
"Paulo Dybala is a really, really good player," Hutchinson told Premier League Productions . "A technical player. Tottenham, I think would be the best fit for him. It just depends if he is fit enough and can play most games in the Premier League.
"It's a different ask compared to Serie A and he hasn't played too many games for Juve this season. He has been in and out of the side. They can't seem to build the team around him. Contract talks have broken down.
"In an ideal world, he would like to stay in Serie A. But, if he comes to England, then I don’t see him going to Manchester City, Liverpool or Man United etc.
"So, the best fit, for him, would be a club like Tottenham where he could be their Christian Eriksen a few years ago. He has to play as a ten."
Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene confirmed on Monday that Dybala would be leaving the club.
"The most important change is that Juventus has not renewed Paulo Dybala's contract," Arrivabene said .
"With the transfer market I reiterated it, the approach was sincere. With the signings made in January, with the arrival of Vlahovic, Paulo's position was no longer at the centre of the project. This is why we preferred to make this kind of decision."
