Liverpool’s opponents for the quarter-final of the Champions League have been confirmed
The Reds will face Benfica in the last-eight of the European competition, with both legs taking place next month. The first leg is due to be played in Portugal on either April 5 or 6, before the second legs on April 12 or 13.
Jurgen Klopp’s side progressed to the quarter-final after beating Inter Milan 2-1 on aggregate in their last-16 tie. While their opponents, Benfica saw off Ajax in their last-16 fixtures earlier this month.
As well as the quarter-final, the semi-final draw has also been made. Should Liverpool get past Benfica, they would then face the winners of Villarreal or Bayern Munich.
The semi-final ties are due to take place the week on either April 26 or 27 and the second legs either May 3 or 4. This therefore means that Liverpool's potential path to the final in Paris has been outlined.
St Petersburg was originally due to host the final of the Champions League, but UEFA took the decision to move the match to Paris after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
