Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Thiago Alcantara's injury is not too serious
The Liverpool manager indicated that the midfielder could be involved in the second leg of the Champions League clash against Inter Milan next week.
Thiago was selected to be in the Liverpool starting line-up in Sunday's win in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea, but he pulled out after an issue with his hamstring in the warm-up.
Naby Keita was drafted into the starting XI to start alongside Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in midfield while Harvey Elliott was called up as a substitute.
Thiago was pictured on the bench at Wembley in tears after the disappointment of missing the final at the last minute, as Alisson Becker comforted his team-mate.
"It was a very emotional moment," Klopp said in his
press conference today.
"We were all surprised. I watched the warm-up and didn't see anything - then I came back into the dressing room and saw him on the bed saying he felt his hamstring. It wasn't a good moment.
"We don't know exactly how long [he will be out]. For the weekend, not sure. Maybe Milan? But after that, definitely."
