Liverpool's new signing Luis Diaz has scored his first goal for his new club against Norwich City
Luis Diaz was afforded an Anfield standing ovation as he was subbed late on Saturday evening, scoring an important goal as Liverpool secured a crucial 3-1 win against Norwich City.
It wasn't a vintage Liverpool performance but it was day to remember for the Colombian after he scored his first goal for the club in only his second Premier League start.
Diaz' big moment arrived nine minutes from time, when the former Porto star made an angled run to collect a through ball from Jordan Henderson before expertly lifting the ball over the advancing Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn.
Delighted to get his first ever goal for the Reds at the Kop end, Diaz celebrated with a knee slide in front the famous stand, capping off a grafted come-from-behind victory for Jurgen Klopp's men.
By scoring at the Kop end, Diaz has become the first Colombian footballer ever to score for Liverpool.
The Reds' victory - their fourth on the spin in the Premier League - helps keep up the pressure on leaders Manchester City.
