Ferdinand points out why Liverpool will miss out on Premier League title

Rio Ferdinand has delivered his verdict on the Premier League title race and whether Liverpool can catch Manchester City

The former Manchester United defender says Manchester City look 'too comfortable' in their games when asked whether Liverpool will be able to catch their rivals in the title race.

Liverpool are currently nine points behind Pep Guardiola's side in the table, but they do have a game in hand after their Boxing Day clash with Leeds United was rescheduled and will take place next week.

The  Reds will also hope to close the gap when they go to the Etihad in early April, a game that could decide the title should they keep on City's tail.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes City are in cruise control, though, and can't see them dropping any points.

"Points-wise it’s not over, but I just believe that City look too comfortable in their games," he said in the
latest episode of Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE .

"There's no topsy-turvey games or moments where you go 'oh my god they're on the ropes they're going to get beat here'. They're in cruise control.

"By the way, Pep Guardiola is doing this without a recognised striker in his team.

"He's basically put his middle finger up to the whole league and all of the media who were doubting him at the beginning of the season and said 'listen, have that and we're going to win the league doing it as well'."
