West Ham United boss David Moyes has revealed he tried to sign Luis Diaz from Porto
Seems as though Liverpool beat West Ham and Tottenham to the punch when they captured the signing of Colombia international Luis Diaz in the winter window.
The former Porto winger was being watched by many clubs and Liverpool new they had to make their move.
And now Moyes has disclosed that he made an approach to sign the 25-year-old.
"It's true. I spoke with Luis Diaz on the phone and we were quite far down the line to sign him from Porto," Moyes told the Mirror.
"My understanding is Liverpool were going to come in for him in the summer, and I was going to try and get him in January.
"I don't know if us trying to get him in January affected Liverpool's decision but he's a really good player."
